Part 2 of the article : The Complex Video Signal
Link to Part 1 - Introduction into complex video signals
The complex video signal ( CVS ) is formed form the image signal, the off signal and the synchronization signal.
The image signal
The image signal is the electrical signal which is obtained after the process of electronic image exploration on the surface of a video capturing device and is determined by the captured image luminance. As CVS standards go in television are used 4 levels of colors , aka direct referrer to the old tv sets that could output the colors black , white and two gray colors. A bigger value of the luminance for any point is represented in the electrical signal with a greater amplitude. Thus the level of color black has the lowest amplitude, and white has the biggest amplitude.
The off signal and the synchronization signal
These signals are needed to assure proper representation of the sent signal on the receiver part. We will cover this in the next posts.

Provided below are references that further detail the complex video signal and its basic components, the image signal, the off signal, and the complex video signal responsible for synchronizing. More on the relationship between how the complex video signal looks and its corresponding exploring path.
